Hotel description

In 1453 the finca was given the name of Son Net for the first time. During this period, Son Net was the heart of Puigpunyent, with the family living on the property and the peasants and servants living in the village at the bottom of the hill. The actual shape and size of this spectacular manor house dates back to 1672.

This old finca, with its beautiful patio and original well, has been restored several times to date. The most recent renovation was completed in June 1998. Natural stone flagged floors and ancient rustic beams are combined with the elegance and traditional interior designed public areas and guestrooms. This not to mention, of course, the impressive centenary oil press converted into a gourmet restaurant. Art lovers will enjoy the remarkable collection of modern paintings in the hotel with original works by artists such a Marc Chagall, Frank Stella, David Hockney, Andy Warhol and others.

Location

The luxury hotel itself, is located on a site atop a gently sloping tree-clad hill in the ancient village of Puigpunyent, in the 90km long Tramuntana mountain range, a 25 minute, 25 Km drive from the airport.

General information:

The magnificent outdoor swimming pool is 30 metres long and overlooks the village of Puigpunyent and the surrounding mountains. The private cabañas invite you to relax in absolute intimacy.
A clay tennis court invites you to play a match and tennis classes can be arranged.

The chapel, which traditionally was always part of Mallorca's manors, has been carefully restored.

Rooms

The "Gran Hotel Son Net" has a total of 25 rooms and suites, each named after an important figure in Mallorcan History.

All rooms feature the luxurious standards of a five star hotel. They are individually decorated, comfortably and elegantly equipped and each room has its own special colour scheme. All rooms include deluxe comfortable beds, large wardrobes, spacious marble bathrooms with in- floor radiator, heated towel racks, large mirrors, full air-conditioning and heating, satellite TV, minibar, telephone and safe.

Several possibilities for golf lovers are in close vicinity to the hotel such as Real Golf Bendinat or Son Muntaner Golf, Golf Son Termens or Golf Son Vida, all located approximately a 20 - 25 min drive from the hotel.

Catering

Through an arrangement with The Stein Group, Gran Hotel Son Net is now the Mallorcan home of the restaurant L´Orangerie of Los Angeles, winner of many international gastronomic awards.
