| The original manor house has been beautifully restored and now accommodates vast public areas, including the main lobby with reception, a lounge, a cocktail bar, a reading room and a billiard room. All these facilities feature the original wooden floors and are decorated in the traditional style of the old Madeiran manor houses, with elegant antique furniture and Persian carpets.

| Palheiro Golf is situated some 10 km east of Funchal with views over the town and bay. The 18-hole par 72 course was designed by Cabell Robinson in 1993 and is skillfully set in the estate and parkland of the Quinta do Palheiro. Remarkable for its Bermuda fairways, fast greens and the presence of many mature trees, the course is a worthy challenge for all handicap levels. |
